Description

This document describes procedures for the isolation and storage of plasma from blood collected into EDTA or lithium-heparin tubes, and serum from blood collected with or without serum separator tubes (SST). The collection, processing and frozen storage of the following biospecimen types is also detailed: urine, saliva, endometrial fluid, peritoneal fluid, and menstrual effluent (blood). It is a product of the World Endometriosis Research Foundation (WERF) Endometriosis Phenome and Biospecimen Harmonisation Project (EPHect) which also provides clinical questionnaires and surgical forms for the collection of data from women with endometriosis and can be found online at https://www.ephect.org/tools/.
