This document describes procedures for the collection, preservation and storage of ectopic and eutopic endometrium, myometrium, and peritoneum specimens preserved by freezing (liquid nitrogen, -80°C), chemical fixation (neutral buffered formalin, Universal Molecular Fixative), or an RNA stabilizing solution. It is a product of the World Endometriosis Research Foundation (WERF) Endometriosis Phenome and Biospecimen Harmonisation Project (EPHect) which also provides clinical questionnaires and surgical forms for the collection of data from women with endometriosis and can be found online at https://www.ephect.org/tools/.
