Description

This SOP describes procedures for the isolation of RNA and DNA from tissues homogenized according to the protocols outlined in SOP #2.1 or #2.2 using TRIzol reagent, the purification of the isolated RNA using the Qiagen AllPrep Mini Kit, and the removal of DNA using the QIAGEN RNase-Free DNase Set. The SOP was developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) GeneLab Sequencing Group (https://genelab.nasa.gov/genelab-sequencing-services/overview) and is available for download from https://genelab.nasa.gov/genelab-sequencing-services/sops and https://github.com/nasa/GeneLab-sampleProcessing.
