Description
This document describes the procurement of colon adenocarcinoma specimens from newly diagnosed, untreated patients undergoing definitive surgery for colon cancer. Specimens are suitable for genomic or proteomic analysis. A procedure for the collection of peripheral venous blood prior to the administration of anesthesia is also included. Protocols are a product of the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC; http://proteomics.cancer.gov/programs/cptacnetwork), which is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute's Office of Cancer Clinical Proteomics Research (http://proteomics.cancer.gov/).
