Description

This document describes the procedures for collecting nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal specimens using swabs or with a lactate ringer wash, processing specimens including preservation in viral transport media (VTM), frozen or refrigerated storage, and specimen shipment that were developed by the Acute Flaccid Myelitis Working Group (AFMWG) (https://acuteflaccidmyelitis.org/).
