This document describes the procedures used by the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) for the processing, storage, and analysis of ACD or EDTA blood for detection of HIV-1 subtype B DNA using the Roche Amplicor HIV-1 assay. It is developed and maintained by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG)/International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials group (IMPAACT) Lab Tech Committee (LTC) and is available under the heading "Virology" at https://www.hanc.info/labs/labresources/procedures/Pages/actgImpaactLabManual.aspx.
