Description

This document describes the procedures used by the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) for the detection and quantitation of the HIV-1 p24 core protein in serum, tissue culture supernatant, or plasma collected in tubes containing acid-citrate-dextrose (ACD), citrate-phosphate-dextrose with adenine (CPDA-1), EDTA, sodium citrate, or heparin from potential clinical trial participants using the Perkin Elmer/NEN Life Science Products HIV-1 p24 ELISA. It is developed and maintained by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG)/International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials group (IMPAACT) Lab Tech Committee (LTC) and is available under the heading "Virology" at https://www.hanc.info/labs/labresources/procedures/Pages/actgImpaactLabManual.aspx.
