Description
This document describes procedures used by the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) for the isolation of Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) from EDTA, ACD, or heparin blood collected from clinical trial participants and subsequent measurement of proliferation using the fluorescent succinimidyl ester of carboxyfluorsecein diacetate and flow cytometry analysis. It is developed and maintained by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG)/International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials group (IMPAACT) Lab Tech Committee (LTC) and is available under the heading "Immunology" at https://www.hanc.info/labs/labresources/procedures/Pages/actgImpaactLabManual.aspx.
