Description

This document describes the procedures used by the Biological Testing Branch for the preparation of fresh and cryopreserved human tumor tissues for subcutaneous implantation in mouse models to generate patient-derived xenografts and the subsequent tumor tissue growth monitoring, harvesting, and cryopreservation for future passaging in alternate host strains at NCI-Frederick, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. It is a product of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Patient-Derived Models Repository (PDMR) and is available at https://pdmr.cancer.gov/sops/default.htm.
