Description
This document describes the procedure used by the LANDMark Biobank for obtaining informed consent, allocating patient and sample IDs, storing participant data, and specimen labeling and documentation. It includes the collection, processing, and preservation of whole blood for blood spot cards, plasma, serum, and buffy coat cells; collection, processing, and preservation of skin punch biopsies; and the transfer, storage, and distribution of specimens. The biobank was originally founded as part of the Longitudinal Assessment of Neuropathy in Diabetes using novel ophthalmic Diabetic Markers (LANDMark) study. LANDMark Biobank SOPs are a product of the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, Queensland University of Technology and is available from https://www.qut.edu.au/institute-of-health-and-biomedical-innovation.
