Purpose of Paper

The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the use of HOPE-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues for tissue microarray analysis.

Conclusion of Paper

The use of HOPE-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues for the generation of a tissue microarray yielded high quality results for protein (Ki-67, Her2, Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2)) and RNA (TLR2) detection without compromising the structural integrity of the tissue.

Studies

  1. Study Purpose

The purpose of this study was to determine if HOPE-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues can be successfully used for tissue microarray detection of breast cancer markers (Ki-67, Her2) and TLR2 in lung.

    Summary of Findings:

Tissue microarray detection of Ki-67, Her2, and TLR2 using HOPE-fixed paraffin embedded tissues yielded comparable results to those obtained with single tissue sections, and with formalin fixation, with a high degree of staining quality and well preserved morphological detail.

  2. Study Purpose

The purpose of this paper was to determine if HOPE-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues can be successfully used for tissue microarray in situ hybridization for TLR2 in lung.

    Summary of Findings:

In situ hybridization signals for TLR2 in HOPE-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue microarrays were distinct, intense, and appropriately localized.
