Description
This document describes procedures used by the Rare Kidney Disease Registry & Biobank and includes sample receipt by the laboratory; processing urine specimens for metabolomic analysis; processing blood collected into EDTA tubes for peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) isolation, proteomic analysis, and DNA extraction from plasma; and processing of serum specimens. Transportation of samples post-processing, sample storage, and emergency response in the event of a freezer malfunction are also addressed.
