Description

This document describes procedures for whole blood collection in PAXgene RNA, EDTA, cell preparation, and serum separator tubes and blood specimen processing, preservation, and storage ; urine; and cerebrospinal fluid for the Phenotype, Genotype, and Biomarkers (PGB) in ALS and Related Disorders Study. It includes protocols on the processing of EDTA blood to obtain plasma and buffy coat, collection of serum from serum separator tubes, and isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from cell preparation tubes. It is a product of the Clinical Research in ALS and Related Disorders for Therapeutic Development (CReATe) Consortium and is available from https://www.rarediseasesnetwork.org/cms/create/.
