Description
This document describes procedures for the collection, storage, and transport of nasopharyngeal specimens using a flexible plastic or wire shaft swab and oropharyngeal specimens using synthetic (polyester, rayon, or dacron) swabs for the detection of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the novel 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID, COVID-19, COVID19) by State Health Laboratories.
