Description

This document describes the procedures for the collection of buccal specimens using foam-tipped applicators and subsequent transfer to FTA cards or using sterile, cotton-tipped swabs stored in original packaging and transport to the Forensic Biology Laboratory. This SOP is a product of the Rhode Island Department of Health and is available at https://health.ri.gov/laboratory-testing/clinical-specimen-submission-guidance
