This document describes the procedure used by the Clinical Trials Unit at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center Biotechnology Laboratory for the preparation of sputum and gastric aspirate specimens for mycobacterial culture and smears for Auramine staining to identify acid-fast mycobateria.
