This document describes the procedure used by the Clinical Trials Unit at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center Biotechnology Laboratory for the collection of whole blood by venipuncture and collection of urine from males and females for the International Studies of AIDS-associated Co-infection (ISAAC) febrile illness studies. It also describes the process used for specimen storage and transport to the Biotechnology Laboratory. It is a product of the Clinical Trials Unit at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center which is supported by the Duke Global Health Institute and is available for download at https://globalhealth.duke.edu/standard-operating-procedures-clinical-trials-sops.
