Description

This document describes the procedure used by the Clinical Trials Unit at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center Biotechnology Laboratory for the preparation and staining of smears from blood cultures and sputum specimens. The Kinyoun Acid-Fast stain is used to identify mycobacteria. It is a product of the Clinical Trials Unit at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center which is supported by the Duke Global Health Institute and is available for download at https://globalhealth.duke.edu/standard-operating-procedures-clinical-trials-sops.
