Description

This document contains the protocols used by the NRG Oncology Biospecimen Bank (NRGBB) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for the receipt, processing, and storage of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) and fresh frozen pathology specimens, as well as whole blood, serum, plasma, buffy coat, urine and other specimens for banking. It also includes protocols for sub-sampling of an FFPE block; the creation of tissue microarrays; and the collection processing, storage, and shipping of serum, plasma, whole blood, and urine for submission to the NRG Biospecimen Bank. These practices were designed/developed to adhere to/in accordance with the NCI Best Practices for Biospecimen Resources. These SOPs are a product of the NRG Oncology Biospecimen Bank (NRGBB) at UCSF and can be found at http://nrgbb.ucsf.edu/sops.
