Description

This document describes the protocol recommended by the Sampling and biomarker OPtimization and Harmonization In ALS and other motor neuron diseases (SOPHIA) project for the collection, processing, preservation, storage, and shipping of blood and urine specimens. Processing of blood specimens includes the isolation of serum, plasma, DNA, and RNA. It is a product of the SOPHIA project and is available at https://www.encals.eu/european-collaborative-projects/.
