Purpose of Paper

The purpose of this paper was to determine the effects of storage on the quantification of 5s ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and microRNA 181b (miR-181b) in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) colorectal carcinoma specimens.

Conclusion of Paper

There was no effect of storage duration on the quantification of 5s rRNA and miR-181b in FFPE specimens by low density array. RNA of quality suitable for array analysis was isolated from specimens that were up to 10 y old.
