Purpose of Paper
The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the effect of delayed fixation on the reactivity of PCNA in breast carcinoma.
Conclusion of Paper
The authors report that a delay from time of excision to fixation of up to 24 hours at 20 degrees C (room temperature) resulted in no significant change in PCNA reactivity.

Study Purpose
The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the effect of delayed fixation on the reactivity of PCNA in breast carcinoma.
Summary of Findings:
PCNA index (percentage of positive tumor cell nuclei) showed a non-statistically significant increase with fixation delay of approximately 10% at 24 hours. No change was observed in semi-quantitative PCNA grading. The authors conclude that a 24 hour delay in fixation does not impact PCNA immunoreactivity.
