Study Purpose
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of storage of FFPE breast specimens on genotype determination using MALDI-TOF MS and the TaqMan genotyping assay.
Summary of Findings:
The mean successful genotype determination rates were 91% and 91.8% using the TaqMan genotyping assay and MALDI-TOF MS, respectively. When specimens were more than 14 y old, the success rates using both MALDI-TOF MS and the TaqMan genotyping assay tended to be lower than in specimens stored for less than 14 y, but the difference was not significant.
